𝗠𝗿. 𝗘𝗱𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝘂𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗟𝗚𝗨 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲

On February 14, 2025, Mr. Edmark Solomon, a student of the Master in Disaster Risk Management program at Batangas State University, successfully pitched and officially handed over the action plan titled "Combating Tuberculosis: An Action Plan for the Municipality of Balete, Batangas." The presentation marked a significant milestone in the municipality's public health efforts, outlining strategies for tuberculosis (TB) prevention, early detection, and effective treatment. The action plan emphasizes the importance of community engagement, public health education, and the integration of disaster risk reduction strategies in healthcare planning to enhance the municipality’s resilience against health crises.
The event was attended by key officials who expressed their strong support for the initiative. Mayor Wilson V. Maralit highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in tackling public health challenges, emphasizing the role of local governance in ensuring effective implementation. Mrs. Jocelyn M. Tangpuz, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer (MDRRMO) of Balete, acknowledged the link between public health and disaster resilience, stressing the need for proactive measures to safeguard the community from health-related emergencies. Hon. Ralph Renz R. Lescano, Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Member and Chairman of the Committee on Education, recognized the vital role of education and awareness campaigns in reducing TB cases and fostering community participation in health initiatives.
